There was a lot pivoting to be done during the pandemic. Luckily, for me, it was also opportunity for creativity. The owner and executive chef of Nightingale Carrie McCabe-Johnston had a dream of opening a sandwich shop featuring daily-made focaccia, and we made it happen. With 50 cents of every sandwich going to charity, and every order receiving a free sticker, button, or magnet created by me, it felt incredible to be a part of this moment.

 

With it being a to-go only business, we knew we would have to rely heavily on social media for customers. I was allowed creative freedom to curate the feel and aesthetic of Lake City Sandwiches. This is one of my favorite projects because of the liberties I was able to take, and the humor and playfulness that made people excited to buy a sandwich.
